Project Overview


Zhejiang Jiuli Special Materials Co., Ltd. (Jiuli Special Materials) is a leading Chinese manufacturer of high-end industrial pipes, with products widely used in petroleum, chemical, nuclear power, and offshore engineering applications. In response to the increasing demand for corrosion- and pressure-resistant pipes for deep-sea oil and gas operations, Jiuli Special Materials sought to upgrade its interior cladding process for 6-meter seamless pipes, aiming to enhance service life under extreme conditions. Canroon provided a dedicated internal cladding solution centered on the CR2100-020E-14TW induction heating system, successfully overcoming multiple technical challenges associated with long-pipe interior welding.


Customer Challenges


  • Cladding inside ultra-long pipes: Welding the interior of 6-meter pipes requires the torch to maintain a stable trajectory along the entire length, with uniform cladding thickness and strong metallurgical bonding to the base material. This places high demands on travel control and process stability.

  • Strict preheating requirements: Continuous preheating above 100°C is essential during cladding to prevent cold cracking and ensure the metallurgical quality of the deposited layer.

  • Precise synchronized movement and angle correction: Both the torch and the equipment must move in absolute synchrony along the rail, with real-time angle correction to eliminate deviations and ensure accurate cladding over the full pipe length.

To meet Jiuli Special Materials’ requirements, Canroon delivered an integrated cladding system featuring the CR2100-020E-14TW induction heating unit and customized flat-type coils to match the pipe structure and heating demands.

  • Integrated preheating and cladding: The CR2100-020E-14TW unit incorporates high-precision induction heating, providing synchronous preheating during cladding. Real-time temperature monitoring maintains preheat above 100°C, preventing cold cracking and enhancing the deposited layer’s bonding strength.

  • High-precision synchronized movement: The equipment is mounted on rails, mechanically and electrically linked to the torch assembly. A precision servo system maintains a stable travel speed of 1.2 cm/min, ensuring consistent 6-meter cladding trajectories with uniform layer thickness and smooth surface quality.

  • Real-time angle correction: A dedicated angle correction device continuously monitors the torch posture and automatically compensates for any deviations, overcoming deflection or installation errors in long-pipe welding and ensuring the torch remains perpendicular to the pipe wall.
